Ok the homemade olives were just flat out no good texture or taste wise, but the bar service is spectacular and the flatbread pizzas divine. Make a reservation, the place was packed!

Birrotecca is a wonderful experience. The soup of the day was tomato bisque was delicious and flavorful. We had the mushroom pizza, sausage fennel pizza, double d pizza, and margereti pizza. All of pizza was good. Lots of leftovers. Dessert are homemade.

AWFUL!!! Don't waste your time or money. We ordered the Monday night family chicken special that was supposed to be enough for 2-4 people. They brought out 2 pieces of chicken rollatini with a little mushroom risotto. A small amt of arugula was piled at the end of the plate. There was barely enough food for the two of us. We weren't given any dinner plates. We had to use the appetizer/bread plates to plate our meals. The chicken was barely warm at the ends and cool in the middle. Unseasoned chicken stuffed with unseasoned ricotta cheese and hardly any tomato sauce on top made for a very tasteless meal. The risotto was also tasteless. And they think they should charge $34.00 for that??? The service wasn't any good. Waitress was young and uninterested. The restaurant was practically empty and we hardly saw her. I complained to another waitress about the food and she went to tell the kitchen and the manager. The manager never bothered to come by to talk to us. We will never go back there.

My husband and I visited during the holidays, so naturally it was quite busy which is to be expected. We arrive on a Saturday at 6pm and told there was an hour and a half wait but we could sit at the bar and have food there. This was a fine option for us, so we elected to cozy up to the bar. When we sat down, there were some leftover dishes from the previous couple. The dishes remained in front of us for 6 minutes. This is also the time it took for the bartender (and there were 2 working) to acknowledge us (not even a hello, I will be right with you). They were even muddling right in front of us. We had to ask him to remove the dishes and wipe the bar area. He did, and was quite friendly. It was just a bit of a turnoff that it took 6 minutes to be acknowledged. That may not sound like a lot of time, but when you are just sitting there, it is. After we were provided menus everything went uphill from there. The drink selection was wonderful! We tried the meatball appetizer which was delicious and had the margarita pizza which was equally delicious. We were not looking for anything heavy, so their menu fit the bill! While we were enjoying our food, another couple pulled up next to us. They too were not acknowledged. Unfortunately, they left and we don't think the bartender even noticed that the business walked right out the door! Overall, we will definitely return because the place is lovely and the food was delicious. I think it's a shame we did not receive a warm welcome from the bar, but an easily correctable flaw, which prompted my review.

I absolutely love this place. The atmosphere is great. Soft lighting, Chalkboard walls, big high top tables in the bar... It's just warm and modern. I love that they don't serve your traditional cheap domestic beer, instead they want to turn you on to craft beer. The staff is very knowledgeable and their menu is great. I went with my boyfriend and his parents and we had a great time. We got the duck duck goose pizza which was DELICIOUS and unlike anything I've ever had before. It had a quail egg cracked in the middle of the pizza that really made it interesting and VERY good. I can't wait to go back again and try something different. Our waiter told us that everything was made fresh in the kitchen- you can't beat that. The only thing that distracted me was the little amount of space the servers have to get food out to the tables from the kitchen. Our waiter mentioned they were making the tables smaller, it just seemed pretty crowded, which isn't a bad thing. They deserve that business.

We have eaten at Birroteca three or four times since they opened in Bel Air and have not been disappointed in the least. Tim & Alex are two of the best bartenders in town, and you can tell GM Johhny knows how to run a restaurant. The food is eclectic and well executed. The (unbreaded) calamari is, I believe, being cooked at low temp in oil and results in a wonderfully tender, fresh treat. Also well worth a try are the artisan pizzas, the sicilian rice balls and the meatballs with house made ricotta. And their charcuterie is the best in town, with 10 fine salumi and 10 outstanding cheese selections (try the Midnight Moon or the Truffle Tremor). So glad they decided to locate to the Bel Air area. Kudos to Birroteca!

Just tried the new Birroteca in Bel Air. We made reservations for 4 at 7:15 on Open Table for a Thursday. I recommend reservations because the place looked full to capacity when we arrived early for a drink at 6:45. The bar was busy with many craft beers and specials listed on a chalkboard wall. The friendly bartender suggested Hibiki, a 12 year-old blended Japanese whisky for my boyfriend ($15, 1 finger). He enjoyed it. I prefer wine and noticed they had several choices on tap. Cabernet was not a choice on tap, so I got a glass of Sebastiani ($9). When our friends arrived we were seated in the Dining Room. The tables are very close together and if we return we will sit in the bar. We ordered the meatball appetizer with ricotta and sauce. 5 small meatballs with very tasty ricotta and sauce. The cheese and salami plates are offered in 3, 5, 7 and maybe 9 portion sizes. We ordered a three-cheese plate, our friends ordered a five portion combination of salami and cheese. Our server asked about our taste in cheese, then explained the options. You can also get the Chef's selection and that depends on who is preparing the plate. The portions are small, but plenty to share. Both couples ordered the Double D pizza, which is meatball, tomato and basil. All of the pizzas are about 14 inches, so we were glad that we ordered one between each couple. The pizza is advertised as Artisan-style, so expect small tomatoes and meatballs sliced in half and large basil leaves randomly placed. Probably not for kids, but we didn't see any LOL. Our server seemed to be in training, but was supported by more experienced staff. Overall, a good experience, but that was mainly about having a good time with our friends.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
